    Frequently asked questions

    Can I convert HEIC and HEIF photos?
    Yes. HEIC and HEIF photos are decoded on the server. These inputs must be no larger than 25 MB or 40 megapixels.
    Does PNG conversion recover transparency from a JPG?
    No. PNG can represent transparency, but conversion does not recover transparency that was absent from the source.
    Does changing the format improve image resolution?
    Format conversion alone does not recover detail missing from the source image.
    Where does Convert Image process my file?
    Convert Image uploads the input to the server for processing. Conversion results are stored for re-download until deleted; the memory cleanup timer does not delete stored results. See the Privacy Policy for current retention details.
